What the website stores in your browser and how to manage it

1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) does a similar job: the website keeps settings in it on your device. In this Policy, both are referred to as “cookies”.

This Policy supplements the Privacy policy of the CargoChek website.

2. Essential

Needed for the Website to work and to remember your choice. They are used without consent because the Website cannot work properly without them:

  • “cookie-consent” (local storage, the Website) — your cookie choice: “accepted” or “declined”. Kept until you delete the site data in your browser;
  • “__cf_bm”, “cf_clearance” and other Cloudflare service cookies — may be set by the hosting provider to tell people from bots and protect the Website against attacks; kept from 30 minutes to 1 year (more about Cloudflare cookies).

3. Functional

Stored only after you click “Accept”:

  • “lang” (local storage, the Website) — your chosen interface language, so that the Website opens in it on your next visit. Kept until you delete the site data or withdraw consent.

4. Analytics

Set only after you click “Accept”. The Yandex Metrica service is used:

  • “_ym_uid”, “_ym_d” — distinguishing visitors and the date of the first visit; up to 1 year;
  • “_ym_isad”, “_ym_visorc” and other Metrica service cookies — from a few minutes to 2 days.

No advertising cookies are used, and cookie data are not passed to advertising networks.

Fonts, images and all other files are loaded from the Website's own domain; the only exception is the Yandex Metrica counter script, which loads only after you give consent.

5. How to manage cookies

On your first visit a banner appears: “Accept” allows functional and analytics cookies, “Decline” keeps only the essential ones. You can change your decision at any time with the “Change my choice” button at the top of this page.

You can delete stored data or block it in your browser settings:

If you block storage, the Website will keep working: only your chosen language will not be remembered, and the banner may appear again.

6. Technical logs

Regardless of cookies, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps request logs (IP address, browser type, time, requested page) to keep the Website secure. These data are not used for advertising. See the Privacy policy for details.

7. Changes

If new types of cookies appear on the Website, this Policy will be updated before they are used, and we will ask for your consent in advance for any non-essential cookies.
